Reviewing RITES Investigations

Take this opportunity to try a RITES investigation, think about how this approach to technology and technology in general might support your use of inquiry. Finally, provide us feedback on how you think these investigations are usable in the classroom.

  • Work alone or in pairs.
  • Proceed to the RITES site and choose an investigation.
  • Complete the investigation as a student. (no omissions, shortcuts, etc)
  • Complete an evaluation form. (Everyone)
  • Be prepared to share your thoughts on the following questions:
    • Did the activity you tried embody your vision of classroom inquiry? Why or why not?
    • What would you have to do to prepare your students for your investigation?
    • What are the advantages and disadvantages to this type of approach to classroom inquiry?
